Brand Development Intern will assist the Archimedes Project in making a major shift in branding and communication strategy in order to better express our vision, services and accomplishments. An ideal candidate is interested in marketing strategy and brand development. Graphic or UX design experience is a plus but not necessary.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with an organizational rebrand
  • Assisting with communication strategy development
  • Creating and curating brand consistent content

Desired Qualifications

  • An interest in international development, social enterprise, non-profit management, or public health, and eager to support the Archimedes Project’s mission to increase access to clean water and sanitation across the developing world through social enterprise.
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills.
  • Well-organized and able to prioritize.
  • Flexible and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Motivated to work independently in a startup and remote work environment.

StoryTelling


Storytelling Intern will work on article-style writing about the field of social enterprise and the work of the Archimedes Project and assist in developing our communication strategy. An ideal intern is an enthusiastic writer with a deep interest in social good organizations who can think creatively about ways to engage existing and new audiences in our work.

Responsibilities:

  • Crafting stories about the Archimedes Project, our work and the field of social entrepreneurship for blog articles, as well as articles for media dissemination.
  • Assisting with communication strategy development

Desired Qualifications 

  • An interest in international development, social enterprise, or public health, and eager to support the Archimedes Project’s mission to increase access to clean water and sanitation across the developing world through social enterprise.
  • Creative and enthusiastic about creating exciting, engaging content, and proactive about planning and preparing content.
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills, and ability to adapt style for different audiences.
  • Experience or an academic focus in journalism, copy-editing, marketing, communications, political science, public policy, English literature, or other writing-intensive subject.
  • Experience in writing for the media (letters to the editor, op-eds, press releases) a plus.
  • Flexible and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Motivated to work independently in a startup and remote work environment.

Business Development


Business Development


Business Development Intern will contribute to the development of new initiatives and undertake research related to the organizational, financial, and legal structure of the Archimedes Project’s ongoing operations. This position will provide the opportunity to engage in activities related to nonprofit management, lean start-up, base of the pyramid for-profit business design, and program development.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting a sector and competitor analysis.
  •  Assisting in establishing a network of strategic partners, including globally recognized experts in public health, WASH, and social enterprise, academic institutions, government agencies, civil society and the private sector.
  •  Conducting research on legal and accounting frameworks and regulations.

Desired Qualifications

  • An interest in social impact and market-based development solutions, and eager to support the Archimedes Project’s mission to increase access to clean water and sanitation across the developing world through social enterprise.
  • Strong analytical, research and writing skills.
  • Academic degree or experience in business development, non-profit management, impact investing, lean start-up, social enterprise, and global public health challenges.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
  • Motivated to work independently in a startup and remote work environment.

Research Assistant


Research Assistant


Research Assistant will undertake social enterprise research related to the Archimedes Project countries of focus. An ideal intern is excited to delve into the global social enterprise ecosystem and has a familiarity with global development, social enterprise or business.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Identify, research and interview social entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders implementing at the bottom of the pyramid and our countries of interest.
  • Draft case studies, business plan canvases and articles on lessons learned from the field.
  • Organize existing Archimedes Project research to make it more accessible.

Desired Qualifications

  • An interest in international development, social enterprise, non-profit management, or public health, and eager to support the Archimedes Project’s mission to increase access to clean water and sanitation across the developing world through social enterprise.Strong analytical skills, and ability to think logically.
  • Strong research skills, including the ability to identify and access a range of online resources. Prior research experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely, verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects based on need and deadlines.
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Motivated to work independently in a startup and remote work environment.
